"Update - it looks like it took me leaving Sam's agency a review to get a response. UNFORTUNATELY, they lied in the response several times. I have contacted them for help, and they have ignored my requests. Don't let their response to this review sway you, STAY AWAY!!! I strongly urge you to avoid the local State Farm office. During one of the most challenging times—hurricane season—their support has been nonexistent. Even after reaching out directly to Sam Sharpe, my emails went unanswered, leaving me feeling ignored and abandoned during a disaster. Prior to Hurricane season My experience with Statefarm took a turn for the worse when I was pressured to change my car insurance to Georgia by the local agents, despite not having my vehicle registered or a driver's license there in Georgia. This reckless decision led to my Florida license being suspended, resulting in near-arrest for driving with a suspended license. The office was aware of the insurance issues but failed to notify me, and I faced threats from the State of Florida regarding the seizure of my car. I clearly communicated to the Georgia office that I did not intend to change my state residency while buying a home. Yet, they changed my insurance anyway. Now, after being a loyal customer for over 20 years, State Farm refuses to insure my car due to my suspended license, and wrongly accused me as someone trying to game the system for discounts. My frustrations continued as I dealt with damage from two hurricanes and a nearby tornado. We submitted a homeowners claim only to have our messages to the local office ignored. The insurance adjuster absurdly claimed that hurricane winds couldn't crack wood, despite clear evidence of significant damage. The deck and stairs have shifted dangerously, yet our legitimate claim is being denied without recourse. Additionally, I experienced difficulties uploading necessary documentation to support our claim. Attempts to reach out for help were met with silence from both State Farm and Sam Sharpe. For over two decades, I trusted and believed in State Farm, convinced they were a reputable company. However, their current lack of care and support is disheartening, especially for disabled veterans like myself living on a fixed income. It feels as though they are taking advantage of vulnerable customers rather than providing the support they promise."

Regarding your auto policy, our team follows strict guidelines, and any changes are based on the information provided to us. If we had known your vehicle would remain registered in Florida, we would not have switched it to Georgia. When we became aware of an issue with Georgia submitting your insurance information, we reached out promptly. Additionally, notifications from the state should have been sent before any suspension occurred. In regard to your homeowner’s claim, we don’t have a record of prior contact until recently, but please know we are committed to addressing your concerns and assisting you moving forward. We deeply value your service and sacrifices as a disabled veteran. Supporting those who have given so much means a great deal to us. Thank you for trusting us with your insurance needs for so many years—we truly appreciate the opportunity to serve you."

"Austin Powell is the reason I stuck with State Farm for almost 6 years now. Since being a customer here Austin is the only agent I would work with because his level of professionalism and attention to detail is top tier. He’s spent countless hours or stayed later to get certain quotes done for me. He’s been AMAZING, this office in general is very good but I’m convinced that is doesn’t get better than Mr. Powell. He treats you like family and is Thorough with finding the information you’re seeking to improve your insurance policies for all of your belongings. I’ve read recent reviews that peoples money didn’t get refunded and other issues they’ve had. But I can assure you that Austin Powell has dealt with very complicated situations for me that involved needing refunds and credits and it was always broke down to me exactly how it will look and what I’ll receive back and it always happened exactly how he said it would. I never had to worry at all for 6 years because Austin always had us covered and was on top of everything! Unfortunately I had to part with State Farm because they won’t insure my home, but I as long as Austin works for this branch I will continue to reassess and try to get back to state farm. He’s truly that good. Ive recommended multiple coworkers to get insured through them and they all say the same about Austin, he’s simply the best of the best and will always keep a top tier level of professionalism. Thank you Austin for the exceptional service you provided me and my family."

"I have had insurance through Sam Sharp for a couple years. I have never spoken with him. I have had nothing but trouble every time I call trying to get anything done. When I asked why I can’t talk to my agent I was told that he doesn’t talk directly to his clients. Then he is of no use if he is my agent and refuses to do anything for me."

"I recently posted a negative review on here about getting my money taken and not refunded. I got an email saying that it would be refunded, which it never did. I didn't expect this from Statefarm to have negative post removed. Even though the money was never refunded, it's wrong to have post removed that'll show the companies poor quality of service."

"Absolutely the worst!!! I added a car to my policy , and while at the dealer they made me pay a additional 300.00 , yes! You heard right.. Made me pay that as if I was starting a new policy...I had a existing policy with a car already and these scumbags made me pay 300.00... I do not recommend these people to do anything moreless handle anything dealing with insurance.. To add insult to injury , they said this is how its done as if I am a new car driver... Been insured and driving cars 40 years..and anytime I added a car to a policy it was prorated and the premium would be adjusted at the next billing cycle as always.. Been that way with USAA, GEICO, ALLSTATE, and all other insurance companies I have used... NEVER EVER AGAIN.... Stay away from these crooks!"

It is frustrating how a business can say PAST or CURRENT customer because I am neither(I WAS A PERSPECTIVE CUSTOMER). Also, there is NO MISTAKE. This is the office I called.
